Ah, one might think that this day was created long ago, but it was only created back in 2021 by Dale Garwood. It speaks to everyone’s adventurous side. We long to live those pioneering days when land was cheap or free, justice was often swift, clarity on who the good guy or the bad guy was distinct. Men were self-made. Men lived off the land and the sweat it took to work it. And after a honest day’s work, on could ride to the local saloon on his horse and get a drink. What a life!

The book that I believe most reflects this idea is:

Living in a small outpost in the Wyoming Territory, young Bob Starrett tells the story of a mysterious man who only goes by the name of Shane riding into town on his horse and taking up temporary residence in the Starrett home. Shane becomes close with the Starrett family, and young Bob idolizes Shane, viewing him as a god-like figure. Meanwhile, Luke Fletcher, all-around bad guy, is harassing the homesteaders. He wants their land. This includes the Starrett family. Shane becomes involved in getting rid of Fletcher and his crew.

It is consider one of the greatest westerns ever written, so on this day think about picking up Shane.
