Tolkien has developed a cult like following when he created Middle Earth in his Lord of the Rings series. March 25 was chosen to celebrate Tolkien because Sauron (a key evil figure) was defeated on this day.

I find you are either a Tolkien fanatic, or you are not. There is little in between. And I guess I may be the rare unicorn that fits somewhere in between. I understand why the fanatics are fans of Tolkien, but I am not dressing as a hobbit for Halloween. I have read The Lord of the Rings series, but I don’t feel the need to read it endlessly.

And if you are a Tolkien fan, I have another book you should try out today. And you can even finish it before midnight.

This book contains 16 songs or poems that support The Hobbit. It follows Tom Bombadil as he travels through Middle Earth and encounters several groups, including a princess.

Note: If you struggle to read verse with rhythm, please consider listening to the Chris Carlin youtube video playlist Reading The Adventures of Tom Bombadil Playlist. His voice is so relaxing.
