We all hold secrets. Some of those secrets are small, while others could be life altering if they come to light. Most secrets are kept out of guilt and shame. The best way to alleviate the guilt and shame is to make a confession.

John Gregory Dunne writes a novel reminiscent of the Black Dahlia murder. The victim nicknamed the “Virgin Tramp” is bisected and found in a shadowy lot. The story of her murder should pass from the front page of the paper in just a few days, but the story blows up. A the center of the story is Spellacy brothers — Tom and Desmond. One is a cop and the other is a Catholic priest. While investigating this murder we meet an array of colorful characters.

There is a warning hidden on the back cover of the book. It states clearly that this crime has no solution, only more victims.
