Oregon Day celebrates the diverse history, nature and people of the 33rd state of our nation. Oregon’s diversity is also celebrate in the literature set in this great state.

I personally have enjoyed the Robin Lockwood series written by Phillip Margolin, who made his home in Oregon. Like his character, Phillip Margolin is an attorney.

In Betrayal, the reader learns that prior to becoming an attorney Robin was a rising MMA fighter, but her career ended when she knocked out by Mandy Kerrigan. The severe concussion left her unable to return to the octagon.

A decade after the fight, Robin finds herself representing Kerrigan in the case of the quadruple murders of the Finch family. Kerrigan claims her innocence, but this isn’t a easy case. Kerrigan has the motive to murder more than one of the Finch’s. To further complicate the case, Robin has also just started dating the DA in charge of the case. Her first serious relationship since her husband passed.

This book is full of twists and turns.
