We are all probably guilt of borrowing a library book to return it late because we miss placed it or we simply could not finish it in a timely fashion. Our local library system has recently done away with library fines to enable all to use the library, and I think that is a wonderful idea. But I am also wondering how do they ever get the books back? I am actually surprised the popular titles make it back.
I have a few questions:
- Have you every not returned a book?
- How long have you kept a book? (I lost my sixth grade atlas. Yes, back when schools still taught geography, I lost an atlas. I think we had to pay $12.00 to the school district. But the joke is on them, I found that atlas. I still use it from time to time.)
- Would you like a long lending period than the typical two weeks? (Some libraries in the St. Louis area have moved to three weeks.).
